What is a findability score?
A findability score is a 0 to 100 measure of how easily new customers can find your business online. It blends four things: whether Google can rank your site, whether AI assistants like ChatGPT can read and recommend you, whether you show up in local search, and whether the technical basics are in place. Zlato's is free and takes about 15 seconds.
How is it calculated?
Your score is the average of four pillars, each graded 0 to 100: Search (SEO), Answer Engines (AEO), Local Findability and Technical Setup. Each pillar starts at 100 and loses points for every issue found: a critical issue costs that pillar 40 points, a high costs 20, a medium 10 and a low 4. Nothing is hidden, so you can see exactly what moved the number.
What is a good findability score?
90 and above is strong. 70 to 89 means you are findable but leaking customers through fixable gaps. Below 70 means the people looking for a business like yours are not finding you. The good news is that most of the gap is usually a handful of missing basics, not a rebuild.
Why does this matter more than it used to?
Because the search box is not the only door anymore. Customers ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI for a recommendation and act on the answer. Those tools read your website differently than a person does. If your site cannot tell a machine what you do, where you are and who you serve, you are not in the running for the answer, no matter how good your business is.
